General Information on the JASCO Alternator System

Compared to the best generator, the JASCO is lighter, more reliable, delivers more power, requires less maintenance, less overhaul and fewer parts.

Installation: The JASCO Alternator is engine driven, pad mounted and designed to replace the pad mounted, gear driven type aircraft generators.

Weight: Total weight of alternators and regulators is under 13.5 pounds. This constitutes a saving of approximately 20 pounds, compared to the weight of a conventional generator system.

Operation: Alternator delivers instant power from low engine speed to maximum R.P.M.

Solid State: Being an electronic, solid state device with no moving parts in the voltage control system, the alternator minimizes battery drain, requires less current than a generator, and employs a thermistor to adjust voltage to meet all power requirement and obtain battery charging. It also eliminates the use of reverse current relays and carbon pile voltage regulators.

ON-OFF Feature: Whether aircraft is on the ground, or in the air, the alternator can be turned off instantly. "A feature", provided that an alternator switch is part of   your electrical system.

No Relays: The JASCO Alternator uses isolation diodes incorporating semiconductors (silicon diodes) instead of conventional electro-mechanical relays. In addition to stepping up reliability, this solid state system activates the magnetic field, turning off the warning light as soon as engine is started and turned on when engine stops.

Rugged Construction: Fitted with pre-lubricated ball bearings and primary as well as secondary drive shaft oil seals, the JASCO Alternator has an all-weather housing which enables the unit to operate in above normal environmental temperatures and rendering it resistant to water, rain, hail, dirt, gas, oil, or chemicals.
