Skytronics' Testing and Repair Service...

Main Engine Electrical Harness

Your best defense against downtime

With nearly 180 wires connected to over 25 plugs, the Main Electrical Harness is the a critical engine component. A single wire, pin, accessory or connector can cause costly flight delays and such important elements as fire detectors, anti-ice valves, fuel heaters and ground busses are all part of this intricate electrical assembly. Even minor mishandling of a harness - a plug hitting the floor - can result in a costly malfunction later.

Grounding insurance you can afford

Because we believe that some downtime can be prevented, Skytronics has designed a service that could cut your trouble shooting time in half. With our new maintenance harness tester, wiring problems can be detected and repaired before harness is reattached to the engine - eliminating the inspected harness as a possible source of trouble. By using a sophisticated and comprehensive testing system, Skytronics can test every wire and plug on your harness in minutes rather than hours - saving unnecessary labor time and helping to prevent downtime and flight schedule interruption.

Skytronics' Testing and Repair Service includes the following:

  • Main Engine Harness
  • E.G.T. Harness
  • Generator Harness

Put our expertise to work for you

For over three decades our expertise in aircraft engine electrical systems has made Skytronics a forerunner in the manufacturing, repairing and overhauling of aircraft parts. Our electrical harness testing and overhaul program incorporates the same standards of superior quality found in all Skytronics products - and is directed by a jet-engine electrical technician with over 25 years of experience.

Don't just hold it... let us test it

For a modest investment, our team will clean and visually inspect your harness, dry it, and perform a comprehensive continuity check. If your harness checks out okay, we'll certify it as serviceable and attach the appropriate FAA tag. You'll also receive an inspection report, detailing the results of both the visual inspection and the electrical test.

You'll be notified quickly of any damage we find, with a detailed assessment of the problem and an estimate of the time and cost involved to repair it. *No repairs will be made without the written consent of the customer. In AOG Situations, Skytronics can evaluate the harness and perform minor repairs within 72 hours.

*Repair estimates are based on the results of the initial inspection, and are contingent on Skytronics not finding additional problems once the harness is opened.

What our overall program will do to cut your trouble shooting time in half:

  • The harness will be tested on our Main Engine Electrical Harness Tester eliminating 99% of human error.

  • Cleaning and inspection done by experienced technicians.

  • Accurate, comprehensive continuity and resistance check performed on all wires, plugs and pins.

  • Provide a detailed visual and electrical inspection report.

  • All repairs are made per customer's prints and Boeing's specifications under repair station license No. AE3R368L.

  • Tag the unit serviceable under our FAA repair station license indicating that it has been completely overhauled and meets Skytronics high standards of workmanship and quality.

  • Quality control procedures approved by the FAA, the Boeing Airplane Company and most airlines.
